Our Story
Oxford & Bo is a completely online children's retail store operating out of our beautiful small town of Medina, Ohio. It has been my life-long dream to own a children's store, so it has been so incredible to have this dream come true. As a mother of seven children, you would think I've had my fair share of little ones.... but I was the kind of mom who hoped for snow days and looked forward to summer vacations! I loved to bundle up the children in the warmiest hats and mittens and take them sledding. In the summer months, I wish I had known about children-size sunglasses - they would've been so handy on our hikes and beach days. The inspiration behind the name "Oxford & Bo" were my two youngest children. "Oxford" resembles the older of the two, who was obsessed with "Umpa's" (her toothless way of
pronouncing the sound elephants made as a baby), and "Bo" symbolizes the youngest one, who was so in love with hedgehogs, that she adopted one. In our Summer Collection, we introduced Oxford & Bo's best friend "Ham", resembling my youngest son. He was such a quiet baby - always just along for the ride, which is why we designed him to be pulled in Bo's wagon. By now I'm sure you're wondering... with seven children, how many other characters could surface in the future? The simple answer is, Oxford & Bo will always remain focused on the main "Oxford and Bo" characters, but if the opportunity presents itself, I would be ecstatic to introduce more of Oxford & Bo's friends, in our future collections.
